Hydration Matters

Could you make it through the day without a glass of water? Do you rely on it to take medication? Staying hydrated is essential for health, particularly for older people. The easiest thing you can do to feel better today is to keep your body hydrated.

Our body needs water to carry out all its essential processes. Around 60% of your body is water. If you become dehydrated, you will soon notice the effects. Read our Hydration Guide online or request your free copy.

Good hygiene

Protecting us from illness and infection. Something as simple as washing our hands depends on having easy access to clean water.

Gardening

From watering flowers to growing vegetables, many people rely on water to keep their gardens thriving. To help protect vital supplies, use a watering can. A hose can use 1,000 litres in an hour!

Staying active

Whether it's swimming, aqua aerobics, or enjoying outdoor swimming, water helps many older people stay active and healthy. Find out more about Scottish Water’s water safety tips.
