Age Scotland is proud to be the official charity partner of ScotRail and Network Rail Scotland until 2026. Together, and with your support, we're tackling loneliness and reducing isolation for older people across Scotland.
Our research suggests there are over 100,000 chronically lonely people aged over 65 in Scotland. That's one person on every street.
One of those people is Alex, 72, who agreed to share his story with Age Scotland in the hope that it could help someone else. Perhaps he could inspire someone to make that first call to Age Scotland and receive the same companionship he receives via his weekly call from the friendship team. He also wants to encourage more people to support Age Scotland so that we can be there for more people just like him.
