Anna Clements in the Age Scotland office

Anna Clements

Head of Dementia

Anna leads Age Scotland’s Dementia forum, which works with people affected by dementia and unpaid carers to shape policy and practice in Scotland. The forum includes funding programmes and the Dementia Friendly Communities Network. In addition, Anna oversees Age Scotland’s Dementia Training Service, which provides dementia and carers’ rights training across Scotland.

Adam Huntley

Grants and Learning Manager

Adam works to deliver our dementia funding programmes, provide support to our grant-holders and applicants, and gather learning from funded activities. He works with our funding development group of people with lived experience of dementia to co-design the way we work as a funder and ensure their voices are informing all our grant-making decisions.

Grants Officer

Ciara helps to deliver grants programmes and offers support to applicants and funded community groups. Along with the rest of the grants team, she works closely with the lived-experience panel, and builds relationships with applicants and grant holders and supports them to get the best out of the grant funding.

Zita works alongside Ciara and Adam to delivery our various funding programmes. Along with the rest of the grants team, she works closely with the lived-experience panel, and builds relationships with applicants and grant holders and supports them to get the best out of the grant funding.

Rachel M

Rachel McLauchlan

Influencing and Engagement Officer

Rachel's role within the team focuses on supporting the engagement of our Dementia Lived Experience Forum to influence key issues and areas that are chosen by our members with lived experience. Our Dementia Lived Experience Forum includes our new Community Conversations where we travel to local areas across Scotland to meet with local groups and communities. Rachel is also actively involved with the engagement activities for CONSOLIDATE, Age Scotland's partnership network with Heriot-Watt University and the University of Strathclyde.

Ali Schofield

Resource and Administration Officer

Ali’s responsibilities include organising and facilitating meetings and external events for About Dementia and other general administration duties, as well as various ad hoc tasks to assist and support the rest of the team.

Beth Allen

Policy Officer

Beth’s role in the team is to monitor, analyse and influence developments in policy which impact people affected by dementia in Scotland. This includes developing policy briefings and consultation responses to support About Dementia’s work and identifying opportunities for our members with lived experience to influence policy developments.

Amy Brown

Communications Officer

Amy's role involves raising the profile of Age Scotland’s dementia work to increase awareness and engagement by developing and delivering high-quality content across a range of channels and media both locally and nationally. She curates and maintains Age Scotland’s dementia related website sections, email and social media content; and oversees the design and production of relevant dementia information publications.

Julie Turner

Lead Dementia Training Officer

Julie leads on dementia awareness and inclusion training and alongside Rachel delivers training for unpaid carers of people living with dementia.  Her role involves developing and delivering a broad range of interactive workshops and materials for both online and in person workshops, delivering across Scotland to community groups, workplaces and anyone who wants to develop their understanding of dementia.

Rachel Davison

Dementia Training Officer - Carers Rights Lead

Rachel leads on planning, developing and delivering workshops for unpaid carers of people living with dementia, taking account of carers’ voices about what training topics are important to them. She works in partnership with carers centres, Meeting Centres and carer support organisations to deliver training online and face to face. Alongside Julie, she also delivers dementia workshops and organises one off Coffee Conversation events.
