In memory of Sir Geoff Palmer: A dear friend of Age Scotland

We are incredibly saddened by the loss of Sir Geoff Palmer. A dear friend to Age Scotland, a giant of a personality and formidable campaigner for equality and justice.

As a former trustee of the charity and an active member of the Scottish Ethnic Minority Older People Forum, Geoff made a significant contribution to the lives of older people.

We will remember his amazing talent to tell a story with such charm and humour, but it always carried a message of humanity.

He was not only a highly distinguished scientist and academic, who made a huge impact on the brewing industry across the world but was also renowned for his tireless work as a champion for human rights, justice and equality. His heart was always in campaigning, and he was a courageous voice.

Geoff was kind, warm, and always there to support. He was a pleasure to be around, to listen to and learn from, and we will miss him dearly.

His impact and legacy will resonate for generations.
