In memory of Glen Michael

Glen was a magnificently generous man and a national treasure. Our deepest condolences are with his loving family.

We were proud to campaign with him and have his support for our work on behalf of older people. As host of our national awards last year, a key voice on our loneliness campaigning with the Sunday Post, and by promoting our friendship service, Glen had such a positive impact.

He will be greatly missed by his family, those who loved him and everyone who grew up with him on their screens.

He was such a fantastic entertainer and a brave voice on the impacts of loneliness in older age. His strong desire to help others was inspiring.

You couldn’t help but smile whenever you saw him, heard him speak or just being in his presence.

He is a huge loss and leaves a wonderfully powerful legacy of laughter and affection.
