Fundraiser of the Year 2025
A woman from Aberdeen who goes the extra mile to raise money to help older people across Scotland has been crowned Fundraiser of the Year at Age Scotland’s Awards in Perth.
Nicola Whyte from Bridge of Don has raised a total of £3,246 through her voluntary efforts as charity champion at Scotrail’s Aberdeen travel shop, including running 22 fundraising events and showcasing remarkable drive, enthusiasm, and creativity.
She has organised numerous events and activities in Aberdeen from monthly craft fairs, rehome a teddy stalls, DIY bug hotels, bake sales and even an audience with a psychic!
Nicola, said:
“I feel totally overwhelmed and amazed about winning the award. I never expected to receive any acknowledgement of our fundraising as I do it because I love it.”
“I love raising money for Age Scotland as it helps so many and such a vast range of people. My view is that our elders worked and helped create the country we live in so it’s nice to give back through fundraising to say thanks.
“And then hopefully when the time comes if I need help when I'm older, hopefully I will get it too.”
